These surplus magnets are just like our countersunk magnets, but with a different countersink size and shape. The steep sides of the countersink are a bit odd on this batch, but works well enough with #4 machine screws.
The north pole is on the side of the magnet with the large hole, where the head of the screw would be.
These countersunk rings can be used for a wide range of applications including door closures and tool hangers.
