Rare earth industry consolidation inevitable 2012-08-03
According to the latest state rare-earth policy: "Mongolia
integrated rare earth industry, 36 enterprises with only one trip,"
Office of the Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been included
in the scope of integration out of Hohhot, Baotou City, and the upper reaches of
rare earth Bayannaoer 35 restructuring of cooperative enterprises, compensation
off and out of shutting down, only the rare earth high-tech Co., Ltd. in
Northern China permitted to engage in upstream operations of Rare Earth's "only
child."
Proven reserves of rare
earth industry in China accounts for about half of the
world, the supply is accounted for more than 95% of the world. Baotou BaiyunObo
rare earth ore exploration and early, large reserves, the exploitation of low
cost, large enterprises have poured into the upper reaches of rare earth, rare
earth mining and exports resulted in a dramatic increase in serious excess
capacity. China has become
the world's largest production base of rare earth raw materials and supply base,
"a dominant" but did not return for the supply of voice and pricing. Separation
of rapid expansion of smelting capacity, competition among enterprises,
"runaway" RE oversupply caused prices long-term at low levels. Russia, the
United States, Australia, Canada, India and other countries for the pursuit of
low cost, to protect their resources, mining and other reasons, once closed,
internal competition, Chinese enterprises get all the "shot of the profit."
RE Integration Policy: The
application of rare earth industry as a carrier, technology and innovation as
the driving force, the introduction of high-tech, high degree of industrial
linkage, high input intensity, high output density, rare earth new materials and
applications, in situ conversion of minerals to achieve, through Applications
drive industry. "Rare Earth Industry consolidation can be a powerful rare earth
resources, remediation, strictly controlling the total rare earth development,
in the protection of the development, directed rationing, while promoting the
resources of the reserves."
