BEIJING, March 7 Xinhua Chinese Commerce Minister Chen Deming Fourth Session of the 7th National People's Congress press conference that the Chinese government will improve the earth as soon as possible the overall management approach.

Fourth Session of the Eleventh National People's Congress held on the theme, 7 "to promote consumption and foreign trade," the press conference. Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming attended the press conference and answered questions from reporters.

Mr Chen said in response to a reporter about "rare earth" issue, said China accounted for nearly 30% of the world's rare earth resources, supply more than 90% of world exports of rare earth, a large number of rare earth in China located in economically underdeveloped regions, and China currently rare earth mining and processing of the overall technological level has not advanced enough, its environmental and ecological impact is significant.

Chen said the Chinese government is facing enormous pressure on the environment, the decision on the rare earth mining and processing as well as for domestic use and export of the same reduction of constraints, hope to gain understanding.

Meanwhile, Chen said the Chinese government departments concerned, including the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Commerce in a joint study will soon improve to enhance the overall management of rare-earth way that the rest of the world's rare earth resources, power, able to technical and environmental safeguards, cases of exploitation of a number of rare earth. He said the Ministry of Commerce more willing to join Japan and other countries to study the rare-earth alternative raw materials.
