Sintered NdFeB magnet used to be the widest applied material due to its high properties and cheap price rather than SmCo magnet. However in 2011 the situation changed a lot. MAGNETC Engineering professionally advises SmCo as a replacement of NdFeB in special application.

Professional analysis shows the advantage of SmCo as below:
1. SmCo become cheaper than special Sintered NdFeB
From the chart you can find a price tendency of Sintered NdFeB magnet and SmCo. Nd and Dy have sharp increase in 2011 but Sm2Co3 and Co keep stable. From our calculation and statistic we find SmCo is now much cheaper than Sintered NdFeB with special property, and price is much stable than Sintered NdFeB in the passed several years.
2. SmCo has better performance in high temperature
SmCo can work at max 300ËšC with quite good temperature coefficient, so even the magnets work in low temperature, Sintered NdFeB magnet has irreversible Br loss between but SmCo stay relatively stable.
3. SmCo YXG-28YXG-30 has similar and stable magnetic property as SinteredNdFeB listed above.
4. SmCo has perfect anti-corrosion property without coating
Compared with Sintered NdFeB, it can work in special environment without corrosion, and SmCo reach more accurate tolerance in dimension without coating.
