XinFeng Magnets is very concerned about your privacy and security, and we take this area very seriously. There are two types of information we collect from visitors.
1) Personal information (such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card information, any other information that you may provide us, etc.) This information is used to process your order, and allows us to contact you in the case there is an order question or problem with filling your order
2) Non-personal information (such as information about how many visitors log on to our sites, the pages they access, etc.) This is used to review performance of the website, as well as improve the website's shopping and browsing experience.
Personal Information
Information collected from you will be used only for the purpose of sending information to you about our services, responding to your questions or comments, or as otherwise may be described at the point of collection (for example on a web form or sending information to your friends email that you provided). If you provide contact information, our staff may contact you to clarify your comment or question, to provide more detailed information to you, or, if you are an existing customer, to learn about your level of satisfaction with our services. Personal information that you provide will not sold to third parties. Also we will not share or disclose any personal information except as needed to provide you the service you have expressly requested. We use an outside shipping company to ship orders and a payment processing company to accept payment from you.
Info-To-Friend
If you click on "Email This to a Friend", a one time email will be sent with the product information to your friend's email address. We do not store this information except for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.
IP Address
As you use our website, our system collects server log data which includes (where possible) your IP address, your domain name, the type of browser and operating system you use, the pages you view, search requests, and in some cases data you submitted via web forms, and, if you linked to our site from another website, that website's address. We aggregate this data and use it for statistical purposes. The aggregate information helps us to ascertain, for example, the volume of our website users' interest in portions of our website, and to help us understand how to improve the navigation and content of our website.
Cookies
We may use "cookies" on some pages of our site to help us serve you better each time you return. A cookie is a small element of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your system. The data collected from cookies helps us determine how many people visit this site and what pages of the site they view. We use this information to better serve all visitors as we improve our site content and design. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but can be configured not to accept them or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.
Security
We take steps to make all information received from you online as secure as reasonably possible against unauthorized access and use, including limiting access to such data to only those employees with a business need to know. The sensitive information (such as credit card number) is encrypted with industry standard SSL encryption to protect your information. The SSL (secure socket layer) protocol is the web standard for encrypting information, ie address, credit card account, that you send over the web. The information you send through our SSL connection is protected by encryption, which prevents eavesdropping and tampering with any transmitted data.
What do we mean by "secure"?
SSL uses a system of exchanges between your browser and our server in order to encrypt the data before transmitting it across the web. Web pages with an active SSL session is what we mean when we say a web page is "secure". Anytime you view a web site, information is sent from your computer to the web server and from the web server to your computer. The transmission of this information is normally sent in "plain text", meaning anyone would be able to read it should they see it. Consider this the next time you type in a password or your credit card number on a web site. The solution to this problem is to encrypt the data. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) was created for this very purpose.
How do I tell if a web page is secure?
There are two general indications of a secured web page:
1) Check the web page URL
Normally, when browsing the web, the URL's (web page addresses) will begin with the letters "http". However, over a secure connection, the address displayed should begin with "https" - note the "s" at the end. You will find when browsing our site it has http: in the URL but once you click on the CHECKOUT button under "Your Shopping Cart", it changes to "https".
2) Check for the "Lock" icon.
There is a standard among web browsers to display a "lock" icon somewhere in the window of the browser (NOT in the web page display area). If you go to the same checkout page referenced above where you enter your personal info, you will see a lock at the status bar located at the bottom of your screen.
This Lock icon is not just an image. Click (or double-click) on it to see details of the site's security. This is important to know because there are sites out there that are built with a bar at the bottom of the web page to imitate the lock icon of your browser! For these reasons, it is necessary to test the functionality built into this lock icon. Occasionally, the lock may appear briefly and then disappear. If that happens to you, double click the area where the lock did appear. That should open a window with the security certificate for that page as described above.
